International Cocktail Day the i heart way

Friday the 13th May isn’t all bad, it’s International Cocktail Day! There’s no better way to celebrate than to get your inner mixologist on, with a few of your i heart favourites poured in for good measure.

Our top picks for international cocktail day are summer classics: Frozé and Sangria.

Frozé

A BBQ must have, perfect for the warmer weather! Combining our i heart Rosé with lemon, strawberries and a touch of sugar to give some serious summer vibes.

Ingredients – serves 4

– 1 bottle of i heart Rosé

– 300g strawberries, hulled and halved

– 50g caster sugar

– Juice of one lemon

Method

– Pour your i heart Rosé into a roasting tin and freeze overnight.

– The next day, mix your halved strawberries with the 50g caster sugar in a bowl. Leave to sit for at least 30 minutes, until the strawberries begin to release their juices.

– Using a blender, blend your frozen i heart Rosé together with the strawberry mixture and lemon juice.

– Divide the Frozé between 4 glasses and enjoy!

Sangria

Feeling fruity? Bring a touch of Spain to your garden with a delicious pitcher of Sangria.

Ingredients – serves 6

– 2 oranges, chopped

– 200g of red berries, we’d suggest strawberries and raspberries

– 3 tbsp caster sugar

– 1 tsp cinnamon

– Ice

– 1 bottle of i heart Merlot

– 100ml brandy

– 300ml lemonade

Method

– In a large jug, mix the oranges, i heart Merlot and brandy together. Put the jug in the fridge for one hour.

– Before serving, add in the red berries and lemonade.

– Stir well, and pour out!
